St Edward's - Section Winners of Eagle House Maths Challenge – 31st January 2008

35 prep and primary schools from Berkshire and surrounding areas took part in the Eagle House Maths Challenge. Each school entered 2 teams and competed over 3 sections:

Countdown section (as per TV programme number section)
Mental arithmetic
Logic problems

Charlie Bucknell and George Scadden of St. Edward’s boys prep school were winners in their section and Toby Darrington and Jamie Sweeney came 11th.

In their sections Charlie and George scored highest marks in Logic and Countdown sections and were 12 points ahead of the 2nd placed team.

Toby and Jamie scored full marks in mental arithmetic and 3rd highest score in logic problems.

Mrs Barker, Head of Maths, was delighted with yet another excellent result from pupils at St. Edwards School.

A Fire Engine Comes to St Edward's
	The children of St. Edward's boys only Pre-prep department recently enjoyed a visit from the local fire and rescue service. The boys were treated to a display of firefighting equipment and picked up some useful fire safety advice. The children experienced this event as part of their topic on ‘People who help us’. The Animal Man Pays a Visit to Pre Prep
	The Pre Prep had a very fun packed visit from animal man together with his python, skunk etc. Even Mrs Silcock, Head of Pre-prep, enjoyed the event! You can see other photos here.

The Pre Prep Pays an Interesting Visit
	The Pre-Prep paid a visit to the local vets at Castle Hill recently, who provided a really interesting morning - you can see further photos here.

Remote Access to the St Edward's IT Network
